Features
Supports multi-protocol host interfaces to unite the SAN and NAS system
NAS Gateway allows the M-series disk array to support SAN (block data access) and NAS (file data access) and multi-protocol host interfaces.

The process continues with the online expansion of the file system
Many file systems can be grouped into M-series storage, each file system in the M series can be expanded to 1PB. Physical drives can be added as needed to increase the capacity of the file system online, making the execution and management of content more easily enhanced with the M series and NAS Gateway.

Convenient design for maximum performance with virtual server function
You can plan for maximum performance by optionally assigning “virtual servers” to map to a node. You can change the physical startup node of a virtual server or allow it to use the system’s default managed startup node. This function allows you to equalize the load on each physical node by organizing virtual servers according to criteria (such as the number of connected clients) that lead to load balancing on each physical node through virtual servers. It can also guarantee the performance of the priority workload by separating it from other virtual servers and assigning it to a dedicated physical nodes to protect productivity.
Save storage space with instance single functionality
M series with NAS Gateway has a single instance function (file-based deduplication) to perform cloning by detecting data from redundant files by examining files based on predefined policies, such as access time and suffix of file names. This function can significantly reduce the physical capacity required for the M-series system.
Remote backup efficiency in a NAS environment
Remote backup of file systems through the IP network with NAS gateway. This functionality provides a backup system without a server. It can be connected up to four M-series stores to the NAS gateway and make a remote backup. The replication software of the M series can also be used for file data.

Snapshot with up to 992 generations
The NAS Gateway Snapshot function provides up to 992 generations of differential data. This differential information can be quickly recovered through the snapshot function to repair files damaged by operation or application error.
High availability with cluster configuration
As NAS Gateway is a cluster of two nodes, it works even in case of hardware failure, and the replacement part can be done online.
