NEC Tape Product History
NEC has a very long history of tape main products for main frame computer and has been in business tape for more than 50 years. NEC began in 1960s with a half-inch open reel tape, and kept on working to come up with a half inch cartridge type tape automation, which NEC did successfully in the early 70s. The half-inch cartridge type tape automation produced many products during the 80s and 90s respectively.
NEC has always launched products that are cores of market demand.
